Materials:
2 -3 ounces of worsted weight 100% cotton yarn. I used Peaches and Cream
Size H crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Abbreviations:
Crochet terms used are US
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
sk: skip
st: stitch
sts: stitches
Finished size: 8 1/4 inches square , including edging.
Pattern is worked in multiples of 3+2
Ch 32 loosely
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across, turn.
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in same st, *sk
2 sts, 3 dc in next st; repeat from * across to last 3 sts; sk 2 sts, 2 dc in
last st, turn.
Row 3: ch 3, dc in same st, *sk 2 sts, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st; repeat
from * to last 3 sts; sk 2 sts, 2 dc in last st, turn.
Row 4: ch 3, dc in same st, 3 dc in each ch-1 sp across to last 3 sts, sk
2 sts, 2 dc in last st, turn.
Repeat rows 3 and 4 until piece measures 8 inches or is desired size . Do not fasten off.
Edging: sc evenly around, working 3 sc in each corner. Finish off.
Weave in ends.
Additional Notes:
1 Changing the hook size or yarn will change the size of the cloth.
2 Changing the brand or type yarn might change the size of the cloth.
3 This cloth can also be made larger or smaller by changing the number of stitches used in the starting chain. Please see the above listed multiples.
